The management and Staff of Little Feet Childcare Centre will ensure that communication and consultation between the Centre and parents/Whanau acknowledges and respects all parties’ values, needs and aspirations.
- Little Feet Childcare Centre supports an “Open Door” Communication Policy.
- Parents/caregivers are encouraged to participate in decision making regarding their child.
- Clear guidelines are available for management, staff and parents to discuss concerns or complaints about the service(Refer to the complains procedure)
- Educators to provide opportunities for parents/caregivers to discuss their child’s progress, program activities and Centre operation.
- Parents will always be welcomed and will be encouraged to be an integral part of the Centre.
- Parents are welcome to drop in and observe the program at any time.
- Alternative process will be in place to exchange information between home and the Centre. Communication book is in place to exchange information.
- Educators will informally meet parents on a daily basis to exchange information and update the parents on how their child’s day has been.
- Educators/Management will be available at mutually suitable times to discuss with parents any issues regarding their child/children.
- Parents are encouraged to attend and participate in parents’ meetings and all Centre events and functions.
- Parents concerned with the care of their child, or any incidents at the Centre are urged to speak with the teacher, and if not satisfied talk to the Centre supervisor then the Centre manager.
Teachers are bound by confidentiality and are not permitted to release any information about any child to another parent or Whanau.
