Being a mother of two wonderful children and with a Pediatrics Nursing background I believe that the early years of a child’s life is most important and therefore it is our responsibility as adults to ensure that our children get the best of everything in life in terms of love, care and education which will make them a confident and competent member of our society. My name is Stella Oluchi Okorogu, I am a teacher with many years of experience from Nigeria, having taught children of different ages in primary and secondary school. I am qualified and fully registered ECE Teacher and I am a New Zealand Citizen I have more than ten (10) years of professional experience working in early childhood centre here in New Zealand. As an ECE teacher I believe there are incredible potentials in every seed and the child is like a mustard seed which can germinate and grow productively when provided with favourable environment of good soil, light, water, nutrient, protection and guidance by adults to realise his/her full potentials. I also believe children’s play knows no boundary or time limit so long as the child is interested in the play activity, I believe most times play leads the child to great discoveries of personal worth, abilities and skills. I value and appreciate the views, opinions and aspirations of parents for their children and recognise parents/whanau as the child’s first home teachers who are a vital resource.

Kia – Ora, my name is Priya Chand Kumar and I am from a beautiful Island called Fiji. I migrated to New Zealand in 2008 and obtained my Bachelor of Education (ECE) in 2012 from Manukau Institute of Technology. I am fully registered with the New Zealand Teacher Council and I have 7years of experience working with the young children across Auckland. Together with this, I also hold a Diploma in Montessori education and recently I have completed Post Graduate in Primary teaching. My passion in early childhood is to provide a stimulating natural environment for children to learn and I believe in providing an environment that is challenging, stimulating, and aesthetically pleasing that encourages our friends to become confident and confident learners.

I have much pleasure in taking care of little children and I am fully qualified and licensed to do so. I obtained my Post Graduate Diploma in Education and bachelor’s in education Primary from University of the South Pacific, Fiji. I have taught in various primary schools in Fiji and have joined Little Feet Childcare Centre in Feb 2020.
I was born and bred in Fiji and am happily married with two beautiful daughters. With a vast number of experiences of teaching little children, I am confident my knowledge and experience will guarantee the best care of children at this Centre. I work with dedication and I always put in my best to render services to satisfaction.

I am Anita Gill, I have come from the Queen of Mountains called Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, India. I am happily married in a Punjabi family. I have been blessed with 2 children and I’ve achieved a Bachelor of Arts. I have a Diploma in Coaching Volleyball, a Master’s in Hindi Language, and a master’s in Physical Education from Punjab University Chandigarh. I have a vast and lengthy experience working with children. I’ve worked as a playground coordinator for the children above the age of two. I’ve worked in baby and toddler areas. I am very passionate about the baby area. My aim is to build each child’s foundation for learning, moving and communicating.

During my master’s days, I started working for a non-profit government organization where I used to teach underprivileged children and this opportunity gave me immense pleasure and made me determined to do something in education field. So, I came to New Zealand in 2018 to pursue Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I became a part of Little Feet family as a reliever in May 2019. I enjoy working with children where I get to interact with them and their whanau and understand their needs. Educating children is a prominent job and I am grateful to be a part of it.

My name is Kanta Kaushalia and I hail from the beautiful Islands of Fiji. I would like to share a bit of my career background with you all. In the year 2014, I undertook my training at Ohomairangi Trust, an organization which focuses on providing early intervention services for special needs children in New Zealand. Following my training the above institute, I had an opportunity to work in various Early Childhood Centres in Auckland as an Educational Support Worker. Later in 2017, I joined the Little Feet Childcare Centre as a Teacher Aide and I am absolutely privileged to be part of this big establishment, where a lot of emphasis is given to quality development and education. Therefore, parents your support is our strength to build the future of our generation, because every child matters.

Kumusta. My name is Nonita Mellsop and I originally came from the Philippines. I have been living in New Zealand since 1993 with my Kiwi husband and two children. During my free time, I enjoy gardening, cooking and beekeeping. I started working with children in Hong Kong in 1991 with a charitable organization and this was my gateway to early childhood teaching. I have been teaching in New Zealand for 20 years with qualifications of Diploma of Teaching and Bachelor in Education. It has always been my passion to teach/train children in the way they should go. I believe that whatever children learn in early childhood are foundational for their future not only in school but through adulthood. Kiaora my name is Trivia Barrett Howard and I am from the Far North as well as from the Waikato region. I have a degree in Bilingual Primary School teaching from Te Wananga o Raukawa and a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education from New Zealand Tertiary College. I have been teaching in ECE for 9 years now. My responsibilities have varied from being a head teacher, acting supervisor, second in charge and associate teacher. I am passionate about language and the power it has to be encouraging and mana enhancing for our Tamariki. I am also very passionate about my culture and my language and I endeavour
to reinforce that same sense of belonging for our tamariki within the centre. I look forward to being able to teach here in Mangere East as I believe it will add a rich experience of multiculturalism for my practice as a kaiako. No reira, Tena koutou katoa.

I am Gurleen Kaur mother of a proud daughter. I have done my Bachelor of Education from India and taught there as an English teacher for two years. Since teaching is my passion and adventuring new ideas for the development of the children is my thrust. I did my Master in Adult Teaching (Level 9) from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology based at Rotorua, New Zealand and also did research in Rotorua Primary Schools. I gained my teacher registration from Education Council in November 2019 and working towards my full registration. Working with children from 0-5, I developed an interest to have deep understanding of their developmental needs, theories and factors influencing their holistic development to nurture them in the best possible way. For achieving this goal, I am perusing my Graduate Diploma in Early childhood Education (Level 7) at Tertiary College of Education. I am also found of teaching music and dance to children which I usually do in my leisure time. I also love to read research articles to extend my knowledge.
